The Arizona Arsenal 3v3 Community Games will be held on April 7th and 8th, 2017 at the Paloma Soccer Complex.  The cost to register a team for the event is $125.  Deadline to register March 29th, 2017.

Friday night is our Kick Off night and it will include  2 sets of games, honoring our graduating senior players and make  sure to stick around for the Annual Alumni vs Coaches game.

All games will be professionally refereed and all goals and fields will meet 3v3 standards. We are pleased to have 3v3 goals from Bownet.  We know this will be a fun event for all players and families involved.

3v3 Community Games Tournament Rules

(FIFA RULES APPLY IF NOT MODIFIED WITHIN THIS DOCUMENT)

PLAYER REGISTRATION: All players must be registered on their teams’ registration form before the tournament begins. Any team or player determined by the event director to have falsified age or skill level will be dismissed from the tournament and any games played forfeited.  All players must carry proof of age.

AGE GROUPS: All players listed on a team must have been born before the listed date given below for that age group). It is extremely important that teams are put in the correct age groups as that is the way they will be scheduled and changes can not be made at the last minute to correct improperly flighted teams.

U7 ____ Born  in 2010 (Academy)

U8 ____ Born  in 2009 (Academy)

U9 ____ Born  in 2008 (Academy)

U10 ____ Born in 2007 (Academy)

U11 ____ Born in 2006

U12 ____ Born in 2005

U13 ____ Born in 2004

U14 ____ Born in 2003

U19 ____ Born in Aug 1997 until Dec 1998

TOURNAMENT CHECK-IN: A team representative much check the team in (all players present) with either copy of birth certificates or player passes at least one half hour prior to their first scheduled game time at the tournament check-in location. A colored stamp will be used to show the player has been checked in and it is necessary for the player to have this on to play in the games.

ROSTERS: All rosters are final upon check-in.

GAME TIMES / SCHEDULE: Teams must report to their scheduled field 15 minutes prior to game-time. A team will forfeit the game if not ready to play at the scheduled time at the discretion of the referee or Tournament Director. It is the responsibility of the coach or team captain to check the schedule for any changes the Thursday before and day of the tournament; you will not be notified of any changes.

NUMBER OF PLAYERS: SIX is the maximum number of players that can be listed on a team (five is usually ideal); three field players maximum on the field at one time (no goalies). The minimum number of players on the field at one time to continue playing is two. Players may only play on one team. There are no goalkeepers in 3-v-3 soccer.

SUBSTITUTES: Substitutes may occur at any dead ball situation, except for penalty kick situations. Players must get referees attention and enter and exit at the half-field mark only.

GENDER: No males will be allowed to participate in any female divisions teams. Females CAN play in male division teams.

EQUIPMENT: All players must wear shin guards. Any player without shin guards will not be allowed to play. Teams are responsible for providing game balls. Ball Size for U6-U8 = #3; U9-U12 = #4; U13 and up = #5. In the event that age divisions are combined, the teams should use the older division’s ball size.

HOME TEAM/UNIFORMS: On the schedule, home team will be listed first. Home team has choice of side of field and provides ball (must be approved by the referee). Visiting team (team listed second on schedule) will choose color of jersey (each team should provide both a dark and a light jersey – no numbers necessary but must be like kind). Spectators should try and sit on the side with their teams whenever room allows.

FIELD DIMENSIONS: Length – 40 yards, Width – 30 yards and Length – 35 yards, Width – 25 yards for younger age groups. Exceptions may be made to field dimensions as necessary.

GOAL BOX: The goal box, approximately eight feet wide by ten feet long (depending on age group and field size), is directly in front of the goal. No player may touch the ball within the goal box, however any player may move through the goal box. Any part of the ball or player’s body on the line is considered in the goal box; the player is an extension of the box. If a defender touches the ball in the goal box, a penalty kick is awarded to the offensive team. If an offensive player touches the ball within the goal box, a goal kick is awarded to the defensive team. If the ball comes to a complete stop in the goal box, regardless of which team touched it last, a goal kick is awarded to the defensive team. Goals will be Pugg goals for younger players and the 4 x 8 foot Bownet goals for the older age groups.

GAME DURATION:

For teams in the age group U7-U10, the game will consist of two 10 minute halftime periods separated by a two minute halftime.

For teams U11-U19, the game shall consist of two 12 minute halves separated by a two minute halftime period, OR the game shall end when a team reaches a 10 goal lead PROVIDED the team that is behind wants to end the game. Games tied after regulation play shall end in a tie – Except Playoffs where a winner is necessary, then there will be a 3 minute golden goal period followed by a shootout if necessary.

GOAL SCORING: A goal may be scored from a touch on the OFFENSIVE half on the playing field. The ball must pass completely over the goal line. Balls shot in the goal from the attacking team’s defensive end will not result in a goal but will be played as a goal kick.

SCORING (IN BRACKET/POOL PLAY): Points will be based on a 10 point scale: 6 points for a win, 3 points for a tie, and 0 points for a loss, plus 1 point for each goal scored up to 3 and 1point for a defensive shutout. 9 points will be given for forfeits in pool play. A forfeit must be approved by the Tournament Director before the game is considered an official forfeit. ***No score or awards will be kept for all Academy ages u6-u10.

TIEBREAKERS: In pool play, ties between two or more teams will be broken by; 1) head to head results between tied teams; 2) goal difference in pool play Maximum of 5 goals per game; 3) Fewest goals against in Pool Play; 4) most goals scored Maximum of 5 goals per game; 5)playoff team shootout with entire rosters.

PLAYOFFS WHERE A WINNER IS REQUIRED: FOR TIE GAMES TIED AT THE END OF REGULATION A 3 MINUTE OVERTIME WILL BE PLAYED. TEAMS WILL HAVE A 3 MINUTE “GOLDEN GOAL” OVERTIME PERIOD. If the score is still tied, the winner shall be decided by shootout with the 3 players on the field at end of golden goal period.

NO OFFSIDES IN 3-V-3 SOCCER AND NO SLIDE TACKLING IN 3-V-3 SOCCER – Example: a player may slide to save a ball from going out of bounds. No contact can be made with the opposing players while sliding for the ball. If contact is made during a slide tackle it could warrant one yellow card based on the referee’s discretion.

FIVE YARD RULE: In all dead ball situations, defending players must stand at least five yards away from the ball. If the defensive player’s goal area is closer than five yards, the ball shall be placed five yards from the goal area in line with the place of the penalty.

KICK-INS: The ball shall be kicked into play from the sideline instead of throw in. No goal can be scored directly from a Kick-in.

INDIRECT KICKS: All dead ball kicks (kick-ins, free kicks, kick-offs) are INDIRECT with exception of the corner and penalty kicks. In all dead ball situations, defending players must stand at least five yards away from the ball. If the defensive player’s goal area is closer than five yards away, the ball shall be placed five yards from the goal crease in line with the place of the foul.

GOAL KICKS: May be taken from any point on the end line, and not in the goal box area.

KICK OFF: May be taken in any direction (can be played backward if desired). You cannot score directly from a kick off (ball must be 100% over the mid-line to be considered on the offensive half of the field).

PENALTY KICKS: Shall be awarded if, in the referee’s opinion, a scoring opportunity was nullified by the infraction. It is a direct kick taken from the midfield center line with all other players behind the midfield line. If a goal is not scored, the defense obtains possession with a goal kick. Penalty kicks are NOT live balls.

POINT STANDINGS: Points will be based on a 10 point scale: 6 points for a win, 3 points for a tie, and 0 points for a loss, plus 1 point for each goal scored up to 3 and 1 point for a defensive shutout. 9 points will be given for forfeits in pool play. PLAYER EJECTION (YELLOW/RED CARD): Referees have the right to eject a player from the game for continual disobedience or as a result of an incident that warrants sending the player off. RED CARD suspension = Rest of game PLUS next game. Tournament Director may eject the player or coach for the rest of tournament if circumstances dictate. If a player on the field is ejected, the team must complete the game minus one player on the field (e.g. 3v3 – would have to play with 2 players if a player was ejected). Substitutions may still take place, but the offending team will still be minus one player on the field. The player receiving the red card will automatically be suspended for their next game (NO EXCEPTIONS).

Players, coaches, or parents whom are ejected by the referee must leave the field and area around the field. The game will not restart until the opposing player, coach, or parent has been removed, yet the game clock will continue. If a player, coach, or parent refuses to leave, the game may be forfeited in favor of the opposing team. All referee decisions, in this matter, are FINAL.

FORFEITS: A forfeit shall be scored as 9 points. The tournament director may look at forfeits and decide if there is a fair way of playing games that have been forfeited.

SPORTSMANSHIP: Players, coaches and spectators are expected to act in the nature of good sportsmanship at all times. Abuse of the referees will not be tolerated. Any instance of such conduct will disqualify the responsible team from the event.

ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST CARRY PROOF OF AGE, IE; PLAYER PASS or BIRTH CERTIFICATE. SITUATIONS OR OCCURRENCES THAT THESE RULES DO NOT ADDRESS SHALL BE LEFT TO THE SOLE DISCRETION OF THE TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR.

WEATHER RELATED ISSUES: The Tournament Committee reserves the right to modify, reschedule, or cancel the tournament due to inclement weather. The Tournament Director has the right to move or reschedule games, as well as the right to shorten game time. You will not be notified about cancellation. In case of bad weather, call 480-442-7472. If weather cancels the tournament prior to the start of the first game of the tournament, 50% of the team entry fee will be retained by the tournament to cover start-up cost. The other 50% will be returned to the coach/captain within 30 days.
