DPLO

DPLO

The DPL OPEN (DPLO) is an integrated, elite pathway launched by the Development Player League (DPL) to serve as a high-level competition and proving ground for female youth soccer teams. It allows clubs to maintain local league play while accessing DPL showcase events and national championship opportunities.

Key Aspects of the DPLO:
Structure: It operates as a bridge between local leagues and full DPL membership, offering regional bracket play and national championship opportunities.
Integration: It provides access to DPL national events and the DPL Individual Player ID Program.
Competition Level: Targeted at teams looking to test themselves against DPL members, leading to tournaments like the DPL Summit.
Purpose: To offer a "proving ground" for clubs, allowing them to compete for a championship alongside established DPL members.

The DPLO was introduced for the 2023-2024 season to expand the reach of the DPL's, which as a whole is focused on developing and showcasing female soccer players. Clubs have joined the DPL Open to provide an elite platform for their young female athletes.
